Hopefully somebody else can help you with these. I've seen them and they're great, but unless somebody does a lot of traveling and cooking, they seem...

Andy Right. Plastic boxes wouldn't protect the people. Right. Got it. Right. Especially if they stupidly take the the knives...

My yard is about half covered with snow and half melted into a soggy mess. We had 8-10 inches here, while parts of Denver had none. It's supposed to be in the 70's again this weekend.

The worst part of this stormn is that all the leaves were still on the trees (h*ll, they were still GREEN, nowhere near falling yet) and the weight of the snow on all those leaves broke probably 1-3 of the branches on many trees, including Ponderosa pines which are SUPPOSED to stand up to snow.

It's that time of year again. I'll try to make a batch of this in early November. It's become an RFC favorite over the years. * Exported...

Driving around town, it looks as though we've had a tornado with all the cracked and broken trees. With the harsh climate (extremes of heat, cold, and dryness) and the thin topsoil, it takes forever for a tree to reach any substantial size, so any loss is a long-term one.

Why does anyone live here? I've never figured it out. I'm here because of a husband who had a job offer he couldn't refuse 21 yrs. ago and refuses to leave because he "loves the mountains". I HATE the mountains, they make me claustrophobic. I was raised at the edge of the ocean, with a wide horizon, and I miss that a lot.

Thanks for the recipe, Toots. I have a Garden Club meeting to cook for on Monday. If it's forecast to be chilly, I'll make it. If hot, iced tea.
