I'm sure it is better than stuff like "Crystal". Ben and Jerry also "cheat" but it is very good anyway. When I lived in California I was just so tired of additives (even in heavy cream) that I started reading the labesl for everything and chose the ones with the simplest ingredients (funny how that always adds to the price) and that is how I found Haagen Dazs.
