TJ's Mandarin Ginger Chicken

I really like this stuff. It's deep-fried morsels of chicken, in a bag, frozen, with two packets of an orange ginger sauce. It's so easy to prepare that I've been eating half a bag of it every morning for more than a week. I was afraid that eating all this fried food would make me fat, but I weighed myself this morning, and I'm 2 pounds below my target weight, so that seems to be an unfounded concern. I just checked the bag a minute ago, and a whole bag is 22 oz. and only 800 calories, so that explains why I haven't gained any weight.

The chicken pieces are good -- real chicken (not chopped and formed) with no gristly bits. I think it is mostly chicken thigh meat. The label does not disclose the frying oil, but I think it is peanut oil. (Although I eschew peanuts, the health concerns about peanuts for non-allergic people do not apply to the oil.) The bag cost less than $5.

A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, and came across an article similar to this that...

I fix it by putting it in my cast iron pot over low heat, turning them once or twice or three times. I dip them in the pesto sauce I make in my new stick blender. I've been saving the orange ginger sauce packets in my freezer, but I've accumulated so many of them I'll have to soon decide what to do with them. It's an okay sauce, not bad really, maybe I can use it as a marinade. Except why would I marinate anything when the frozen bag food is so easy and quick? It might be a good BBQ sauce, but why would I barbeque anything . . .
