Hi Daisy
Recipe: "Shaun's Orangeinal PorkThe only proper, tried and tested meal recipe I've ever written 9or followed) - I just dug it up for Jim C's (chile-heads Jim) original recipe project, thought I'd...
I'm not a short person but I gave a lot of thought as to how I would arrange my chest freezer. The freezer came with 4 baskets. Each one has 2 plastic clip-on brackets so they rest on the surface, just under the lid. You can remove one and slide the rest from side to side to see what's underneath! I bought another 8 baskets from the same manufacturer and these sit in 2 rows underneath and fill up the rest of the freezer. I can easily bend in and lift these out. If I were to begin to struggle I would make handles out of plastic- coated wire so each basket could be lifted out.
Anyone in New OrleansSorry, I didn't mention it because my visit was just days before "the 500-year tide" that wiped out a fair amount of...
Using the computer I produced a labelled diagram of the different levels of baskets so that I know where every item can be found eg. White fish, smoked fish, sausages, lamb, beef, pork, vegetables, cheeses etc. I also found it useful to produce a 2nd chart which lists all individual items. Let's say I have 8 varieties of cheese, mature Cheddar, mild Cheddar, Stilton, red Leicester, crumbly Lancashire, Parmesan, goat's cheese, ewe's cheese etc. When I remove a cheese it's a simple matter to reduce the chart number by 1. This way I know when any stock item needs purchasing. Before this I never knew just what I had in stock. Now I can nip out and buy what's needed. :-)
The Bottom of the Freezer! 3644Well, such a lot of suggestions .. and thank you all for taking the time. I cannot have a vertical freezer in the space I have (in the garage!). I have a two-door...
I'm also lucky in having a large capacity upright freezer too, but as I live in Europe I have to return annually to England to replenish foods which can't be easily found over here so extra space was vital.
