Michel Boucher Since when is mentally ill nice... you can't bear to live with a spouse so you divorce them but haven't...

Of course, we tend to see ourselves in situations. Something tells me that Sheldon doesn't have a good relationship with his ex, that he still has the hots for her and that she dumped him.

It is unfortunate, but even after two people fell in love, got married and shared a life, the process of the marriage breaking up and the ugly facts of divorce sometimes turns that love into hate. We've all seen it, over and over. Other couples have problems with the breakup, but it doesn't turn into hate. A few couples come to a mutual agreement to breakup, work everything out to their satisfaction, and remain friendly, just not in a marriage relationship.

The former minister of our church took it one step further. His ex was one of his best friends. He and his second wife went up every summmer and spent a week with her, her husband and their children. They stayed at the ex's house.

I don't know how it is for Michel and Janet, but spending a holiday meal with your ex, especially when you share children in common, seems unexceptional.
