Hey, RowbehrtoeJeez, do I know the feeling! I've got Regents bought yesterday morning at the Farmers Market, Honeycrisps and Haralsons in the downstgairs (small) fridge, Haralsons in the upstairs fridge, Honeycrisp seconds (acquired today...
Witchy Way
Definitely. I think leeks are a rather useless vegetable... even if they were priced more realistically I still wouldn't bother with those grity filthy things. I much prefer using the bottom portion of green onions... and then I still have the green tops for garnish, tuna salad, whatever. Leeks cost trice the price and more than half is essentially waste.
Me neither, I just eat it as is... I think it's an acquired taste.... I like it I think because as a young kid I remember my mother and father sharing a fennel bulb with a beer on a hot summer night while they played cribbage on the back porch, so I suppose it intrigued me because in my young mind fennel was a grown up thing. I mean like beer really tastes awful but young people can't wait to drink it because they see adults guzzling brewskies... but really, beer smells no different going in as out.... if you retain the smell of a Clydesdale peeing you can drink flat ginger ale and know how Buds taste. Yes,I've visited NH Busch Gardens, Clydesdales are amazing... iffn any yoose gals ever seen one peeing you'd divorce your husband.
