Totally OT: SSNs 5177rummaged among random neurons and opined: Funny you should mention...after browsing this thread for the last couple of days, I wandered over to the Big Three's...

Heh, your son must have a good bank. A few years ago I went to get a loan for my new car. I've been using this same bank for 20+ years. I've gotten loans from them before. When the man pulled up my information he declared I'd been listed as having committed bank fraud! Excuse me?! I got all indignant, but for a minute there he had me worried that somehow my information was mixed up with someone elses' and how the hell would I get that corrected?! He had to make several phone calls before finding out he was reading something wrong.
I've sent a couple of corrections to credit reports. I didn't have to fill out mountains of forms but I, too, never heard anything back nor did I get a corrected copy so I don't know if they file-13'd it (trashed it) or made the corrections. One thing I needed corrected was they listed my employers address as my HOME address. Second, they indicated an employer I'd never heard of, let alone worked for. Third, they claimed I owed for a past due trash collection bill from a time when I was living in an apartment complex who contracted for trash pickup. I never had a contract for individual trash pickup service on the dates the report indicated. I still have no idea if they made the corrections or not.
