What to do for Dinner

What to do for Dinner 3594
Since we had a hearty breakfast, about 4 pm I made a broth of kombu seaweed and fresh pooake stems; took them out and then added finely chopped ginger...

I am at a loss for what to make for dinner tonight. I have meals planned for most of this week, but not tonight and am feeling uninspired. I have ground beef, ground veal, pork chops, pork tenderloin, scallops, shrimp, some pollack, halibut cheeks, bacon, pork shoulder in strips, lamb riblets, smoked chicken-habanero sausage, chicken breasts-thighs, hot italian sausage, country pork sausage, plus some whole turkeys, chickens, legs of lamb, larger beef roasts, and a whole turkey breast all in the freezer. I am not interested in thawing a huge chunk of meat at the moment, so sticking with the smaller things, and easy to make in an hour or less of prep work (crock pot is okay if it takes six hours or less once it's in). We have all the pantry basics, lots of spices-herbs, vegetables in good quanbreasty either fresh or frozen, condiments and such. I'm a little low on canned beans, but we have a lot dry.

I don't want to do soup because both a soup and a stew are on the menu for later this week, and I don't want to do fussy, because I have kids to pick up from school and not much prep time during the day today. No vegetarian, we do that twice a week as is, and one more day would be too much for Rich to bear.

So, within those parameters, what ideas do you have?

Regards, Ranee
