???? You don't go to ceremonys and weddings because the food isn't very good????
ceremonys are not about the food. It is about respect for the deceased and support for the family and friends who have suffered a loss, sometimes sudden and sometimes the end of a stressful period of fear illness and suffering.
Most of the weddings I have attended had excellent food. The only wedding dinners that I have found disappointing were the Italian weddings. Invariably I hear from other guests, mostly with Italian roots, about how boring "English" cooking and how Italian meals have so many courses and so much variation. Yeah, tell me about it.... a plate of antipasto, often a plate with s a couple olives, a few slices of cheese and cold cuts. Then comes the soup... chicken noodle or some variation on the theme. Then comes the pasta course, some variation of pasta shape and a red sauce, served with a shaker or bowl of plastic Parmesan from a can. The main course will be roasted chicken pieces, some dried out veal, maybe roast beef, roasted potatoes, beans and carrots. I have been to a number of them, and the food is always the same. Their saving grace is that there are all those courses and lots of food so there may be something good to eat.
