I hate those *STY*rofoam clamshell thangs, they invariably leak and the food in the containers can get all mixed up. For some reason these are popular at local Mexi joints...'course typical carry - out Mexi food is usually a mish - mash right off the grille anyways so no biggie.

Alex Rast Cases of disposable paper goods almost always contain 'sleeves' (a case of 1000 will contain sleeves of 100), whereas the vast majority of restaurant supply emporiums, if they sell to...

At many Chinese-Asian places these days the entrees at least will come in those nice round plastic containers with the snap - on tops. No leak, no mess. They are microwaveable and freezable IME. They are great for packing leftovers, they look groovy too, especially the ones with a black base. Very handy for a variety of daily kitchen uses.

Some places will still pack the accompanying lice in the old - style square paper containers...

These are a nifty item, especially for a single person. One nice little meal, e.g. meat, starch, and a veg will fit perfectly in a container. I regulary make a bunch of meals like this for myself and others, they freeze okay and then can be popped into the microwave. No additional plating is needed as the container is yer dish, supply utensils and you are ready to eat...after just wash and re - use.

As to other containers, I regularly get the round plastic deli containers of varying sizes at the salad bar of my local soopermart. First time I did this I offered to pay for the dozen I had, they refused, saying, "You're a good customer, no charge to you". I've also obtained the round Chinese containers at my local carry - outs, they'll always give me a few extra whenever I order...just be sure to tip nicely!
