True... many people try to pull fast ones. I had to laugh at a former coworker. He used to talk about getting an injury that no one could disprove .... back... to get compensation. One day we came in to work and heard that one of the guys on the night shift was off work for a few weeks because he had fallen off a truck and hurt his back. This guy's eyes lit up. Two days later we arrived at the office and heard that he too had fallen off a truck and was going to be off work for a while. He ended up getting a 10% disability pension.... 10% of his pay on top of his regular paycheque, tax free, and none of us believed that he really got hurt. The best part was when he called me on the phone to ask me what it was that I had said that he had..... Luigitis..... a badaback. :-)

It would have been difficult to disprove my claim for a broken collar bone if I had managed to get to work. I worked on my own at a remote location. All I had to do was to get dressed and get there, then report to the hospital. Xrays would have verified the broken bone and the prognosis would have been the same. The problem would have been getting dressed to get to work.
