We don't decorate until very close to Christmas. We have an advent wreath out, and the creche without the baby Jesus. Actually, all we have out is the stable and the animals. We do a little game with the children throughout Advent where we have Mary and Joseph travelling around our living room to get to the creche, the baby Jesus is put in on Christmas morning and the Magi start their trek on Christmas and arrive on Epiphany.
We'll get a tree in a couple weeks, string the lights on it, but we decorate it Christmas Eve while the kids are asleep and they wake to the decorated tree. We do some greenery around the doors and breezeway and a bell wreath on the door just before Christmas. Each year we plan to put colored lights on the tree outside the kids windows, but haven't yet. We do white lights on the tree inside and around the door, garlands of greenery from our yard on the mantel, candles, a basket of glbutt balls on the end tables, things like that.
Xmas decorations. Have you begunseen something on TV about upside down Christmas trees being all the rage in the US. Just did a Google search and found this Can't imagine it...
