We have to pre-register our entries and are limited to 20 canning entries. I registered at least 25 and will decide at the wire what I bring. The usual jams: Apricot, blackberry, cherry, peach, strawberry, another one for which there is no lot, and a combination; the usual jellies: blackberry, crab apple, grape, mint (outstanding flavor but cloudy), plum, raspberry, strawberry, pepper, combination, and a miscellaneous for which there is no specific lot. Relishes: corn relish, dill pickle relish, sweet pickle relish, a couple barbecue sauces, salsa; bread and butter pickles, a miscellaneous relish. Apricot Butter that will make you weep. I've never made pickle relish before; the dill stuff is done and pretty good.
I'm engaged with a box of Colorado peaches and a mighty fine jam they made, too. Yet to do with them: Fuzzy Navel Jam, Peach Amaretto Almond Jam, maybe Ginger Peachy Jam. My 15 pounds of cherries are in-house: Cherry jam and jelly are done and yet to do with cherries: Cherry Amaretto Jam, Cherry Chipotle Sauce. I've got until August 16.
Then there's the baking. . . .
zxcvbob scored big time at his county fair this week.
Thanks for asking. -B
