My husband said the same thing - he says I am in denial. He also says that allergies can progress and reactions can get worse. I suppose I should bring this up next time I see my doc. Is it common to have an allergy only to certain shellfish? Shrimp and lobster don't seem to bother me ... nor do fish...
Funny (sorta) story....
Tuesday was the holiday party for the quilt guild I belong to. It's a potluk with TONS of food. I was very excited to see that there was spinach dip - I love the stuff. Took a big helping - got back to the table and took a big bite. It had crab in it!! YUCK! I spit it out right away and seemed alright (no numb mouth, no nausea) It did make me think though - when you have a potluck of that size (about 80 people) How do you go about finding out if these dishes have something you may be allergic to? Should people label things (either with what they are or "contains nuts-shellfish ....")? I suppose asking 80 people if thier dish contains x,y or z is out....
