what's special about beer

you know, i aint too crazy about beer. i feel the same way about coffee. i love the aroma of coffee, but not the taste. what i like about beer is its image and foam and all that stuff. i don't care too much about the taste. it tastes like goat piss.

so, hat is special about the beer ritual. first off, i don't care if comes it aluminum, but you gotta pour it into glbutt cuz that's the only way to appreciate its texture. and, you also gotta drink it under a blue clear sky with the rays of sun everywhere. why is this? it's cuz beer looks like distilled sunlight. i know it's made from barley and hops but if were to mythologize beer, we might say it's made from leaving a pitcher of water outside, allowing it to capture the golden rays of sunlight. so there you have it. the gold of the sun flowing and glowing inside the pitcher. but, there's more. people usually chill beer in some dark place. now, imagine that. the rays of the sun rendered cool and icy. a sublime kind of irony. but, there's another twist. when you drink beer--no matter how cold it may be--it has a kind of warming glowing effect inside. it's as though the chilled sunrays are releasing their heat inside your fizzling gut

so, there are many layers to the enjoyment of beer. the taste is rather like goat piss, we all agree. but, consider the image of beer and how it plays with our notion of sun, darkness, hot, and cold. and, futhermore, gold is supposed to be precious. yet, people drink golden beer like it's for everyone. it makes the lowliest negro feel rich to be drinking that colt-45. dang, he be drinking and pissing gold like money don't matter.
