(tinny) 70s machine yet.

As another who cooks, I would do without something else to have a good cooker. I did, actually, and have no microwave and I am giving away the electric grill, which served its purpose while the kitchen was being built. There are two kinds of people, I think: those who would have a 100,000 euro car and a 10,000 euro kitchen and the opposite. I am the opposite. If I had 100,000 euro, anyway, which I don't. I went cheap on the dishwaser to get a better stove. A human DW wasn't on offer. They usually end up costlier anyway. Upshot is junk the thing and buy something built to serve for 50 years. Minimize on electronics, per June's experences, and maximize on heavy, easily cleaned and utilitarian. I will be cooking in a couple of weeks in a kitchen I designed in Manhattan. It's like working in a museum of modern design and I have to dress up to cook there, but being 6" shorter than the owner, I can't reach some of the technological marvels, so I have to scrounge around, elflike, on the bottom of the kitchen with the ordinary stuff. And then I hear how I make it dirty. Boh!

June Hughes Thanks June. Sadly I don't have a gas hob, one of the downsides of living in this rented flat. Also remind me...
