A gentle and throughly offtopic plea from a lurker

Hi Folks

You're all a cultured lot who probably run a mile from "Brits Abroad there was a lovely chippy 5 mins from the apartment and the Rose and Crown did a smashing fry up just like at home and it was only £1 a pint for Stella" type resorts.

I'm just wondering if any of you knew where I could get a good late European holiday deal somewhere not infested with Tattoos Pictures sunburnt Brits? After searching for about a cumulative total of 12 hours I've managed to get a teasing glimpse of how hard it is to find a decent late holiday, so I've turned to you, knowing you're a selective and erudite bunch to help me!

Desperate regards, Richard

I've not tried these people but want to, so perjhaps you could report for me

Our 2007 guided walking holiday programme is now available and can be are offering two special interest weeks.

This week is accompanied by one of Europes leading orchid experts Michael R Lowe: Michael recently authored a wonderful book in conjunction with Alicante university called "Las Orquideas de la provincia de Alicante" which was published by the Juan Gil-Albert insbreastute of Alicante. Walking is limited during this week and will generally be at a grade 1 level ( fairly gentle) The holiday starts at Alicante airport, includes return transfers to Quatretondeta. 7 nights accommodation at Hotel Els Frares, full board, including our gourmet style evening meals with good spanish wines. 5 days accompanied trips and 1 free day to visit the local market town of Cocentaina for lunch and a wine tasting.Detailed programme on request. The birds of Eastern Spain Saturday 27th April 2007 - 7 nights duration This week will be accompanied by BBC Radio 4 wild life presenter Brett Westwood. I had the pleasure of making a programme on the region's Bonelli's Eagle population with Brett in 2003. The area is rich in bird life in the Spring. Highlights of the week ( hopefully) will be searching out the rare Bonelli's Eagle, Golden eagles and Griffon Vultures. Other species are too numerous to list but if you are interested in what you are likely to see drop me a line and I will send you a list of birds spotted during one of our normal walking weeks. To get to habitats there will be some walking at grade 2 level. Prices, package and offer, are the same as the orchid week with the exception of the free day when we will visit the wetlands of the Albufera at Valencia. Numbers will be limited as with the orchid week. 2007 guided walking holidays with our usual great variety of grade 2,3 & 3-4 walking, and 2 different packages, are available right through until March 2008 at our usual great value. We are holding 2006 prices for all bookings received during this year for 2007. After that we will have to increase prices to cover the additional energy costs we all having to bear at the moment.

Other News Hotel Els Frares, our restaurant "Les Agulles dels Frares" and our mountain walking holidays received the Diploma of Merit 2005 in the annual regional tourism awards ceremony held at the beginning of last month . Also the restaurant has just been listed in the Spanish guide book - " Restauradores" the best restaurants in Spain, for the coming addition. We're very proud of this, as there are not many British owned and run restaurants who have managed this.

The development of our swimming pool, spa, small conference centre are in the final stages of planning and hopefully work will commence ibefore the end of the year. This development is separate from the hotel, although when finished facilities will be available to hotel guests. It is located about 100 metres from the hotel on the site of the old village olive mill. As part of this development we will be offering 8 apartments of a very high standard for sale , along with the opportunity of future rental income.
