I've just checked Tate Modern's restaurant menu:

OT Just for the inner child
We all need a little stress-reliever today!!!!!! This only takes a minute. Please don't be a bore and ruin...

Starters

Celeriac soup with spiced Bramley apple 5.95

Beetroot & butter bean salad with garlic cress and a sherry dressing 6.95

Parma ham & pork terrine with baby carrots and honey dressing 7.25

Seafood salad with chicory and parsley 7.95

HELLO EVERYBODY
Hello group! I'm an italian woman (I live on the mountains near Turin, but I come from Rome-Castelli Romani), and...

Smoked Loch Fyne salmon with toasted brioche 8.25

Deep-fried crab cakes with lemon mayonnaise and salad leaves 9.50

Mains

Deep-fried Cornish haddock and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce 9.25

Garganelli pasta with wild mushrooms and spinach 11.50

Corn-fed Suffolk chicken with borlotti beans, bacon and spring onions 13.50

Chilli & chocolate tagliatelle with clams 14.95

Roasted rump of lamb with boulangre potatoes and a red wine jus 17.50

Is that really "reasonable"? I'm used to two courses of Michelin two star food for 22 so perhaps that's my problem.

Oxo, which someone suggested, seems to me to have become absurdly expensive. I have (regretfully) abandoned the Whistler at Tate Ancient for the same reason.

Sadly, for personal reasons, one of my friends would not go for Spanish so Meson Don Felipe is inapplicable.

Does anyone have any answer to my original question re Anchor & Hope?

tia

Bill
