I have mixed feelings about it. I fell in love with it in John Lewis & kind of designed a full rebuild of the kitchen around it.

I rate to the range of burners on the hob - the central 5Kw one can really heat up a wok. However, really gentle simmering took a while to get used to.

With the ovens I went for the 1 gas + 1 electric option. I'd have liked a convection oven but for some reason that was going to cost an extra £800 !!! Good strong gas oven (meant to be mark 10 but I'm sure it's much higher) and for me a strong selling point. On the other hand a neighbour who moved recently was sufficiently disenchanted with the reliability of her two electric oven model she left it behind as a freebie.

I didn't buy their hood - I acquired a lightly weaker stainless model at under 1-2 the price and generally the accessories are high priced.

place. Very true. But then we have to learn how to use the knife too. Its not that difficult to learn...

One last point that I knew would cause problems is the general range issue of the grill. Although I have no problems with it, Beth hates using it because of the lack of eye-line control & additional mess. I guess the answer is their Salamander - if you have the wall space and pocket.

Bottom line is I wouldn't buy it again. I still think it looks superb as the centre point of the kitchen, cooks well, and it can take an awfull lot of abuse but not value for money.

Cheers, Tom
