Ok fellow UK foodies, please tell me that what I read in the newspaper while on an airplane today was typical overblown newspaper reporting for sensationalism. The New York Times reported that there is a move to ban the long sharp chef's knife. Apparently, the reasoning is that there is no need for a sharp point on a knife and since there has been a rise in stabbing in the UK, this would be a way to lower the number of violent acts committed. Have things really gotten to where we have to be protected from being able to debone a chicken?

There has been a liquidate carried out with a Swiss Army Knife, (some woman end her male friend with a Swiss Army Knife, and then swore blind that he had been end by a stranger. If ban anything larger then the large blade of a SAK would leave any kitchen knife useless.

I try not to use my SAK, used as a fob on my car keys, in the kitchen as it is not clean enough, but I occasionally need it, when short of some other tool. -- they must have something to hide or something to be ashamed of. Your task, should you wish to accept it, is to determine *what*.
