"When the moon is in the wane." The old idea of killing at the wane of the moon had more in it than supersbreastion. It has been worked out in weights, that animals which graze by moonlight do eat more, and are heavier at the end of a period of moonlight nights.

Another curious old belief unaccounted for is that no woman at her monthly period, nor any woman just recovered from childbed, should handle any form of salting.
This is a firm belief in many farms, and they will go to much trouble and expense to bring another hand to carry on the work if the mother of the house cannot. Some of the old women workers may have fostered the belief in order to make themselves indispensable to the younger women - but some put it down to the women having a slight temperature at the time, as all such work should have a cool hand. There is so much medical knowledge obscure by supersbreastion, and so much supersbreastion turns out to have a scientific cause, that this is worth reporting.
As far as I know there seems to be a lot of supersbreastion-myths around on this and as it has been proven many time before that supersbreastions and myths usually tern out to be true. I also seem to have a nagging thing at the back of my mind of something along these lines that is mentioned in the bible?
