Dinners are ok because you can Lunches are the hardest things to find...

Wheat-free bread from Sainsburys (in a yellow box) is acceptable if toasted.

Wheat-free corn tortilla wraps can be bought and filled with whatever you like.

Wheat-free pasta (FreeFrom ranges) from Sainsburys or Tesco is surprisingly good, esp. spaghetti. Don't buy corn pasta - it falls to bits and tastes vile.

Salads (really interesting after a week...not)

There are lots of ready meals available now which don't contain wheat or gluten and most have an allergy section on the back so it's easy to see if they contain w-g or not. I've written to-emailed many manufacturers trying to pressure them into not including wheat into their recipes if it's not absolutely necessary; I suggest you do the same.

Black Farmer sausages are excellent and completely wheat free (£2.09 for 6)

A lot of fresh sandwich fillers-baked potato topping thingies (in little plastic pots) don't contain w-g.

Tesco wheat-free (FreeFrom range) choc muffins aren't bad.

Feeding the world
to clarify, my point is that "joe public" drives about in his over enginerred and simultaneously under enginerred...

A lot of products which you wouldn't even think contain wheat, do. Some cold meats, for example.

My wife is intolerant of w-g so we've had a lot of experience of this problem!

If you want to talk about it further feel free to email us - it sometimes helps if you know somebody else is suffering the same things. It can get very depressing not being able to find anything to eat but this can be hard to understand for those who do not have a dietary intolerance.
