2003 Les Fiefs de la Vieille Julienne VIN DE PAYS DE LA PRINCIPAUTƒ D'ORANGE, FRANCE 3.95 15.25

Vieille Julienne are one of the new superstars of the Ch‰teauneuf-du-Pape region. This ripe, meaty wine is

made from grapes just outside the area, but it tastes like a junoir version of its big brother. A bargain.

2004 Don Cristobal Bonarda MENDOZA, ARGENTINA 4.20 16.00

Fabulous! One of the best South American reds we have tasted for a long time.

Bonarda is grape of Italian origin that has sweet cherry fruit with good balancing structure.

2004 Heartland Stickleback Red BEN GLAETZER, SOUTH AUSTRALIA 4.40 16.50

Ben Glaetzer is currently South Australia's hottest wine maker, producing some of the region's

benchmark wines. As a result, where most Aussie reds at this price point are uninteresting,

this is a well-balanced, succulent mouthful.

2002 Trescone (Sangiovese-Merlot) LAMBORGHINI, UMBRIA, ITALY 5.30 21.00

Yes, this wine is made by the same family that constructed the famous car!

Modern, juicy medium-bodied Italian red. For your money the best value red wine on the list.

2002 Trinity Hill 'Trinity' (Merlot-Cabernet Franc-Syrah) HAWKES BAY, NEW ZEALAND 5.50 22.00

best value we have come across.

2003 C™te de Brouilly POTEL-AVIRON, BEAUJOLAIS, FRANCE (Half bottle)12.00 23.00

After a couple of mediocre years Beaujolais has been blessed with one of its greatest ever.

2003 Dolcetto d'Alba, GIANNI VOERZIO, PIEDMONT, ITALY 23.50

Voerzio is one of Italy's most exciting producers, making sublime sought after Barolos. This is an inky

purple wine full of rich fruits. Drink it with all types of red meat.

2003 Akarua Gullies Pinot Noir OTAGO, NEW ZEALAND 26.50

Otago in the South Island is undergoing a frenzy of Pinot planting.

It is easy to see why as this serious complex wine reminds us of a red Burgundy from a lofty,

expensive village.

1999 Rockford Moppa Springs BAROSSA VALLEY, AUSTRALIA 27.00

Barossa is famous for its full-throttle Shiraz. There are also some very old patches of Grenache vines

The Rh™ne is currently producing some of the most exciting and best value fine wine in France.
