I only just read this!! I don't read the NG at work as we don't have usenet access and Google posts take hours to appear.
Yes, June, I cycled in as always and was in the office at 8.20am. I didn't hear the Tavistock Square bus plant, even though it was probably quite close. Lots of people didn't make it to the office at all because of the chaos on the tubes, and almost everyone left early.
Most had a long trudge to get home, so I was thankful for having the bike.
During the day the CEO kept informing everyone by group email of the transport situation (even though all the TVs in the office were switched on), though he got a few crucial things wrong - which I discovered after I'd posted them to another web forum I contribute to. I wish he'd checked his sources! Luckily, it's one of those forums where you can go back to your posts afterward and edit them.
Our MD also bought lunch for the team from the cafe - you've been there, June! I've never been impressed with the food from it so I nipped out to a local cafe in Leather Lane for a sandwich and a samosa.
The plantings 146Following up to Mike what a bizarre opinion, are you as nuts as Dave? Only...
I left about 5.30 as I wanted to go swimming and I wasn't sure what the pool's like earlier than my usual time of about 6.15. When I arrived, I found they'd been closed since 2 o' clock!!
I heard today that a bloke who works for a sister company in Russell Square was caught in one of the explosions and is critically ill in hospital.
I don't know him, but hope he pulls through.
I've lived through 15 years of troubles in Northern Ireland, including nine in Belfast, but I think I've seen more violence, what with plantings and riots, in London.
I'm really sadYou will note that I have not posted any filthy language in this discussion I think it's fair to point...

The plantings 147Following up to Dave Fawthrop Rubbish, I addressed that point elsewhere, the point is you don't grasp that snow is easily dealt with where its a common occurrence, try thinking for once. Heres my comment...
