Have you noticed in recent times how TV programmes have to incorporate an odd form of transport? We have had Oz Clark and Jilly Goolden on biycles around German vineyards. Two Fat Ladies on a motorbike and sidecar. Jamie Oliver in a VW camper van. Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall in an old Ford Corsair. Who are these TV producers trying to kid? In reality they proably all drive around in bloody great big jeeps? If that is all they can afford for the presenters, imagine what kind of transport the film crew get? To cap it all, last Sunday we saw in 'Egyptian Journeys With Dan Cruickshank' (non-food) going up an Egyptian mountain on a donkey that was about ten times too small for him!
