It's a standard savoury shortcrust pastry case. You need to make it in a deep pie tin - I don't have one, so have been using a deep sponge tin with a press-out base.
Anyway, for the filling:
350g minced lamb Teaspoon-ish of cumin, teaspoon-ish of cinnamon. Salt and pepper. 2 small cooking onions, chopped. (I tried with red onions this time) 2 cloves of garlic, chopped or pressed. Tin of chopped tomatoes. Couple of carrots, diced. Couple of parsnips, diced.
Fry up the minced lamb to brown it, add the salt, pepper and spices. Fry for 5 or so minutes. Add onions and garlic. Fry until onions are soft. Add tomatoes and vegetables, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove lid and simmer for 10 minutes to boil off the water and make a thick, meaty sauce.
Lidl food is it REALLY this bad! 530I don't wear make-up, and neither does my cat. ;-) To be fair, I doubt every cat that's ever eaten Aldi's cat food has got cysbreastis, I'd definitely say...
Roll out half-ish of the pastry and line the pie dish, then roll out the other half to cover the pie. Decorate (I don't) and glaze with milk or a beaten egg.
Cook in the oven at 200 degrees for around 30 minutes until golden brown.
Oh, the pastry is made using 350g of plain flour - vary the fat according to taste.
I've also experimented with adding Worcestershire sauce to the filling, but prefer it without. -- Steve H 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' Alfa 156 2.0 TSpark Lusso - Fiat Marea 20v HLX - COSOC KOTL BoTAFOT #87 - BoTAFOF #18 - MRO # - UKRMSBC #7 - Apostle #2 - YTC #
