Lacanche ranges Mailcopiesto: never

you are confusing two families of crustaceans: The prawn family is distinct from shrimp family (at least in countries outside of the US) . See here for...

Thank you.

We concluded that most of the 'range cookers' were as you suggest -- overpriced, over-large, over-decorated versions of ordinary cookers intended to decorate farmhouse-stylee kitchens. Lacanche is a more serious cooker, Britannia a sort of halfway-house.

We had dealings with Britannia after the company that installed our cooker (a local oil and gas supplier) messed up. I was very happy with the service we received, but then all we needed was a visit from a qualified service engineer.

Our cooker is gas hob, electric oven. The hob seems to do much what gas hobs do, although I couldn't find another in that price range with a decent wok burner, and I wanted stainless steel rather than enamel. I am extremely pleased with the oven -- my only regret is that we didn't have space for a 90cm cooker.

Cream on cake: why Mailcopiesto: never
Perhaps I should explain. Yesterday we went to a barbeque which included dessert: an impressive array of bought-in cakes. Mounds of innnominate fat and nuts, cream cheese, sugar, flour and bakers' cocoa1...

We didn't bother with a range of showrooms -- we reviewed the specs and literature from the manufacturers whose products suited our taste and pocketbooks, then talked nicely and at length to the senior salesperson in our local large John Lewis (that stocked all of them) on a quiet day.
