Hello June.
These days I tend just to lurk here, and only post occasionally. I mainly post in uks and the Shedde these days.
Ah yes; I remember that. I'm still very active.
I do that too. I have an *enormous* rosemary bush outside the west-facing front room bay window (the bush is about 12ft. wide, and kept cut down to about 4ft. tall to allow the middle window to open) and I can pop out and snip some off any time I want to. When it's in flower, it hums with bees, both honey and bumble.
The marjoram (both standard and golden) which I originally planted in the bay-border has 'jumped' to the lawn, so I now let it grow there, as that's where it seems to want to be. I love it in stews and gravies, but haven't tried it with lamb - it might be worth doing something similar (garlic slices and marjoram sprigs) with beef or pork, perhaps.
I have tried to grow garlic from shop-bought cloves, but all I got was a lot of shoots, and a single small uncloved bulb at the base which was smaller than the clove I planted. -- Regards, Andrew. Andrew Marshall, G8BUR, M0MAA. Unsolicited advertising matter unwelcome. Offenders may be blacklisted.
