No, I wasn't talking about people doing that. Isn't that over now anyway? The old "white flight" thing, many young people now want to live in city centres, rather than suburbs or the country.

Look at the size of the supermarket trolleys, bulk shopping goes with the car.

The fish shops smelling of bad fish were symptomatic IMHO.

Its the fault of those communities for choosing the supermarket.

so is mine, not always so in the old days, when my wife started shopping, the greengrocer took the pee out of her for not knowing what was in season, if he did that sort of this nowadays he would be out of business.

they are hypocrites if they do that. And I'm sure lots do.

I wonder if the Chinese education system told people how to cook?

Yes. But if you know what you are doing you can cook from raw ingredients quickly and cheaply.
