LOL You are putting it forward as the absolute truth! Indeed, you accused me of saying...

Then why on earth do you make such buttertions!!!! How would you feel if Lidl got hold of it and acted...

TBH I think my local Morrison's is an improvement on the Safeway it replaced. It seems to have a better selection of fresh fruit and veg, and more is available loose rather than pre-packaged. It is good for bog standard basic English ingredients, such as tinned pease pudding which my local Waitrose no longer stocks. The Bettabuy range is very good value, although I normally only buy household products rather than food. And the fish counter stays open until the store closes - unlike when it was safeway - and is well stocked at good prices, although I think some of it is not as fresh as it might be. On the down side, I don't think I could do my weekly shop there every week, and some products are relatively poor - for example the fresh bread looks good, but is far too doughy.

I'm a Waitrose shopper, so no other supermarket really compares, but on those weeks I have to do my shopping on an evening when my local Waitrose doesn't open late, or for a "cheap household products" shop, Safeway is good enough - I don't really feel the need to drive 5 miles to Aldershot or Hook for my nearest Tesco, for example.
