Following up to Dave Fawthrop I think that's factually incorrect, small amounts of alcohol are probably either good or neutral unless you have a specific problem.

Factually correct. Small amounts do nothing to me except slight anesthesia. I go straight from sober to stupid drunk. Not good :-(

Following up to Dave Fawthrop No, I drove the same as I did before, I never saw risk as something to be eliminated from life at the cost of becoming a mouse, if you...

I knew you are anti alcohol, just wondered why you singled out "real ale"?

I was posting to a real ale group

Which scared the sh*t out of the whole family for 3 generations.

We all know alcohol can be abused, I had a cousin die in a car crash but I don't campaign for more road safety.

I do not campaign against alcohol, just mention it in follow ups.

Surely you drive more carefully?

Sure, I see the shiny end mostly. You have said that before, how do you get addicted to coffee(?),

Just started drinking coffee because I liked it and the quanbreasty got totally out of hand, 30+ cups per day. Long ago I sort of accidentally gave up because the only coffee available was cheap instant which tasted foul. The withdrawal symptoms were horrendous. Two cups of Nescafe cured them.

mind you, if you find things like that addictive its probably a good move not to drink it.

Easier said than done. Without caffeine I feel terrible, so I treat it as the drug it is and limit consumption to four cups a day.
