Again not what I was really on about .but nevertheless quite right. The sand eels you talk about often caught off the scandanavian coast in poluted water ingest the mercury and contagions put into the sea by man. The sand eels are used (as you say ) for feeding farmed salmon and trout. They are also used as feed for other farm animals ...the bad news is that they do contain high levels of these toxins and dioxins that are ingested into the human body
The fish food industry employs a lot of heavy PR experts to keep this information in check ... it really doesnt want you to know that what is promoted as healthy food ...just might not be.
As you said lots of things make sense.........but look at BSE and the last foot and mouth outbreak. The greed of parts of the food industry drives these inevitable castastrophic events.........mess with nature and it will come back and bite you
"Lots of things make sense. Have we got any, I wonder?" Sadly not.
And with the bird flu scare around the corner... can we really have faith in the experts to make the right policies and decisions....again sadly NO !
and all I wanted to do was go fishing!!! :)
