Can anyone please tell me where I could get hold of this? I tried a recipe from Anthony Worrall-Thompson's GI diet book for blueberry muffins, but couldn't find wholegrain flour (unless it was masquerading under another name) at Waitrose or Sainsbury's or the local health food shop. I tried with wholemeal instead, but they've come out disgusting, like little mud pies...

British Wholemeal is 100% extraction, so it is wholegrain.

Did you get strong or weak wholemeal flour? Muffins require weak flour and a raising agent, Strong flour is bread flour and not as good for cakes etc. The raising agent may be in the flour already in which case it will be labeled Self Raising Wholemeal flour. Or you may add it as Baking Powder, or there are other things which act as raising agents.
If you give us the whole recipe we can probably translate it into English ingredients.
