Raspberries 771from get You In this particular case NATO has been inveigled into going to Afghanistan as US surrogates (nastier people than me say mercenaries) because of a threat...
Fine. That's what we're here for.
How so? What particular aspect are they defending? Or attacking? Hitting injectione production perhaps? Stopping the drive to fundamentalist Islam? You have ruled out keeping sweet with US but I think there is an aspect of that; we do support our allies and that's ok provided we have the same objectives as they have. Do we in this case?
If you live in the UK and are abroad for, say a holiday or working for the UK (see my earlier definitions) then I reckon you are enbreastled to your hulks. If you choose to live in another country purely for your own benefit then that is your choice. Whether you pay taxes is not the issue; arms, legs, heads etc are not negotiable. I still don't think anyone is enbreastled to say "I want to live in a country where winters are warmer and I am enbreastled to expect someone to risk his life to get me out if things turn nasty there".
Raspberries 772Yep. That could make sense. Could be why Blair put us into Iraq too. Mmmmmmm...... Forgot...
Raspberries 773charging because OK, in an effort not to fall out... Insert "Large men with guns" where I said 'thugs'. changing The UK government is quite exact. Living here...
You pay taxes (local or national is immaterial) to get services; valid. Those services you quote - and others - do not put other people at risk of their lives. Bin men do not generally get arms and legs blown off - and if it did start happening the country would take steps to try to prevent it. You pay taxes to have an army to protect you from the dangers that beset us without our individually doing anything to justify them (dangers ie). IMV benefit takes you outside that protection. Money does not come into it.
