It's not an issue, it's a problem.
Canada can strip non residents of their nationality, it's their choice.
What they shouldn't do is discriminate between people with just Canadian nationality and people with dual nationality.
It also opens another can of worms...
An example:
India denies Indian Citizens the right of dual nationality, but allows people of Indian origin to reside in India without the restrictions placed on other non Indian residents.
So, someone of Indian origin who becomes Canadian loses their Indian nationality but retains the right to reside in India.
What do you do if they normally reside in India? They're not Indians, they're Canadians, but they don't live there...
Once you start making exceptions it all gets horribly complicated.and messy and some poor devil is going to get left on a beach with the howling madmen coming down on them and they're screaming at the disappearing boat "But I am yours, it's a paperwork error..."
