Retail source of Arcoflam pleas

Can't help with the Arcoflam I'm afraid but there are a couple of alternatives for hob to oven that I use. Think they are non-stick coated aluminium and very good to use.

Circulon from Meyer. Not cheap but very good. Use the range which has metal handles. There is a wide range of the usual pots and pans and I have a paella dish (frying pan shape with 2 handles) which is often in use for other things. Don't see that one around much in the shops though but you might get it by ordering. Don't let them say it doesn't exist - I've got one!

Another make is Moneta (Italian). Starting to see it around in shops. They do a cbutterole which is ok for low-moderate (ie cbutteroling) ovens; I doubt if the handles would take a hot oven. That is non-stick and very good to use. They also do good n-s frying pans but with the same limitation on oven temperatures for the handles; you wouldn't be able to roast in it. I found Moneta stuff to be quite cheap, the frying pan (med size) was about 16 pounds. I paid about that for the cbutterole, too, but it was in a sale and reduced and don't know what from; would guess twenty-plus-ish. Don't know if the low price will mean it won't last but it's good at ATM.

What else do I use for hob to oven?

A stainless steel pan with ceramic handles. Found in the local "recycling centre" for about 50p IIRC!

Oh yes, a cast aluminium cbutterole with a good base made by Hardingwood (Australian). Bought that from a local ironmongers in Minehead many years

There's also a range of cast aluminium called Club. IIRC they tend to have wooden handles which would rule out the oven but they may make other ranges.

Don't rule out stainless steel with metal handles provided it has a good heavy base. I've seen a few makes around eg Home Economics. I have a frying pan from Sainsbury's with a metal handle and a good heavy base and I use that for braising. There could be a size problem in using a frying pans in an ordinary oven; we have an Aga-type which gives you plenty of room so you'd need to check that before spending your money. A browse on the net may help.

Lobster soup was: Alternative to deepfried Mars Bars
Absolutely. The name changes from country to country, I suppose. Those insert depletive here Quebec people even went so far as to create a name (goberge) that sounds like a plausible fish name...

Good luck Jane
