mint saucefrom dry mintI have just been out in the garden to check out the herb patch.. We have small, but usable, quanbreasties of flat leaf parsley, thyme, marjoram...
Had to pay in advance; it cost so much I took out cancellation insurance! I must be quite, quite mad... I could have bought books with that money.
I haven't had a sauna for decades, but i have a very pleasant memory of a hot pool! Some years ago we went back to Canada for a family reunion in Jasper. We found so much family a bit overwhelming after 20-odd years, so disappeared for a 'proper' walk one day -- drove up to Miette Hot Springs, then hiked to the summit of something I can't remember the name of. This was late spring, so although the low trails were clear but muddy, the snow was thigh-deep at treeline. Thankfully it was also well-packed, so each foot usually sank to no more than 6". Coming back down after lunch the snow had softened, so we both frequently went in knee-deep or deeper, which put a great strain on my duff knee. I was limping badly by the time we got back to the Springs. We'd planned to go straight back to town, but decided on the spur of the moment to hire costumes and towels to visit the pool. It was *wonderful*. We spent a bit longer than recommended in the water, but my leg felt so much better afterwards that I was able to walk down to see the springs themselves. I still maintain that hot water is one of the features that defines civilisation :-)
