AdvAnnNew Beer at Farmers' Market, Wirral Sat 11th June
For anyone in easy reach of Wirral (Betwixt The Mersey & The Dee) my new beer, Sunlight from The Betwixt Beer Co. will be on sale at the excellent...

Following up to June Hughes,

let the name dropping commence!

VIP ohhhhhh!

Our favourites were:- Boxwood - three melon soup with prawns and basil La Gavaroche, Pigeon pie with pepper and cranberry and ("orgasmic" Carol !!!) lobster bisque with cognac. Michel was pleased we had tried his truffle macaroni recipe and understood we had not used the suggested £350 wine. AWT Notting Grill - I have always thought of him as TV presenter but his food was some of the best, smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with sorrel hollandaise. Also soy glazed very rare Tuna.

Carluccio. While tucking into his mixed fish crostini Antonio told us the BBC had turned down his idea of a mushroom foraging and cooking series following his book. Please complain to Beeb.

(Carol recognised "Stein" from Hells kitchen and asked Jean Cristof is he knew he was there, (he did) Gary confirmed that Stein has started work for him recently). We had GRs roast pork baps and Novellis ("ouses charm from the gallic interpersonal distance" Carol) scallop with pea puree. Nice.

I went today (Saturday). Boy was it hot - and such a fab day out that I'm hoping...

Bluebird - english food, salt marsh lamb with red cabbage and Lancashire black peas. Villandry - pea mint ricotta risotto, nice on a cool night, if you are overheating and overeating perhaps not! Cinnamon club - char grilled guinea fowl with fennel and coriander, lovely!

We also had Zilli (he's lost weight) seafood pasta and Finos paella.

Ken Hom was doing the rounds, perhaps he will have a stall next year?

Harrogate bookshop (opposite Zilli) Oh dear, they had the El Bulli books in english, well, its only money isn't it? A Danish reporter recorded us talking about it to the bookseller for her article on "London, gourmet capital of the world" You know, I think UK has arrived.

June - Friday day events 12.30 Hom-Carluccio joint demo "east meets west" 1.30 David Thompson, Mathew Albert demo 3.30 Ben O'Donague demo

Any nubile females except Junes daughter, who is spoken for! Saturday night Locatelli (7.00) and Novelli (9.00) demos -- Mike Reid
