Following up to Dave Fawthrop
The benefit of having these things to hand is they are there when I want them, its not something you tick off and never do again. Unless of course you don't get it?
You forget that most of us have been to Yorkshire, London and a lot of other places. Drivers are no more "totally uncivilised" than in the urban north and in any case there are other means of getting about if you need them. I suspect the problem is you cant hack it?
What an odd thing to say! The central Londonl parks, (not owned by the council) are splendid, as are Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common that's my local grbutted area, what's "alien" about it?
Loadsa garlicHello June. These days I tend just to lurk here, and only post occasionally. I mainly post in uks and the Shedde these days. Ah yes...
Do you know where I walk from choice here? Central London along the Thames, Soho, places like that. Not round the edge of some field.
the urban buzz, too much for you is it? Pretty girls on every street, all types of people of all nationalities and persuasions doing all types of things without worrying if its "acceptable" to small minded people.
Yes, that a drawback of London, it takes me 4 hours to get to the ELD. But then I can be in Paris in two, so as you say, swings and roundabouts.
Ramble was OT ping PhilOn Wed, 24 Aug 2005 09:37:58 +0100, The Reids Thanks - I hadn't been looking at the news much. There's only one of the family...
What's so special about "real fields"? Farmers fields are something I don't need nearby, (although I have farms in walking distance). Give we moor and mountain, seascape and cityscape, your problem is you cant appreciate things like this:- Its sad for you, not for us.
The difference between you, Dave and the rest of the people here, is that you are rude (and worse) about where others live for no good reason, while everybody else isn't. I appreciate the good points of living here and elsewhere, and the bad points. What makes you unique is your bad manners and ignorance on the subject. You only started this thread to be rude about the south, pathetic really. -- Mike Reid
