Want to make gravy without granuales
On 22 Jul 2006 13:20:12 -0700, "MULLINERú" It's not a "home". But anyway. Ahaa, There's traditional, and there's "traditional". In our home traditional would mean made with meat stock-drippings from a roasted joint...

Agree about the image ie new v restored windmills. How much power and resources does it take to get either working ie how much "excess power" (what you get minus what it took to make) are we going to get out of either resources used and pollution created by production of the windmills? More than 10%. Do you know how this figure was arrived at?

I know what you mean by the "politicians" aspect but look at nuclear power by itself. Two main dangers - accident and longterm radioactive installation.

Accident. We are now more experienced and know many of the dangers (we can never "know" that we know them all) so should be able to run installations more safely.

OT Seaweed quick question
Following up to Tom Anderson If fire represents hell or evil, we have someone (Wyndham Earle?) playing with the devil and trying...

They produce a small tonnage of radioactive material. We produce rather a lot of CO2 by other production of energy.

Long term radioactive sites. Sites are of small area geographically as long as they are not interfered with. Just daydreaming but would it be possible to insist that approriate water pipes were installed at time of build so that any residual heat could be taken off safely and removed for use once the site has been mothballed or am I in cloud cuckoo land?

Cheers Jane
