I know I'm not the only one because one of my friends does the same.. does anyone here play this "game"

Sometimes you think whilst shopping, I really fancy x, what do I need? So saunter off to the prepared (be it fresh or tinned).. pick it up and shop for the fresh produce (based on the product and your knowledge) before replacing the prepared item back in its "home". Then going home to try and cook it without looking at any recipes..
Alternatively, a slightly easier version, you may have brought a prepared item.. keep the ingredients list... next time buy the individual ingredients and try and cook it.
Personally I'm finding such cooking so much fun, its challenging.. it really is.. you have to work out on your own the method, the relative quanbreasties of the ingredients... and you almost always end up with a better end product.
Have a go.. its so much fun and entertainment.
I'll post my version of m&s's wild rice lentil aubergine roasted peper lemon and oil dressing salad in a few days (my latest trial.. done it once.. but didn't measure it out... it was good, second time should be perfect, with measurements!)
