Don't give yourself airs. You're talking B*******. Good English beer survives because a minority of English boozers are still prepared to search it out, taste, recognise and appreciate a good pint when they find one. I am not a payed up member of CAMRA; I back to the hilt what they are doing, but I would guarantee that I have spent more years than you searching out quality ales. Tell me please of any decent ales which you can find 'on tap' in Spain or Italy.
I can certainly state that here a few expats or even US-borne folk don't agree with you, in that they enjoy what we have to offer and even vociferously chase our regional recipes. No doubt you would discount them as eccentrics of limited taste ;-)
Maybe you're so consumed with Italian and Spanish cuisine, which is all I've ever extol about, perhaps you might possibly consider extending your efforts to promulgating British cuisine, unless that's too much to expect!
cook book addicts do not read 39Following up to Don Gray It would be nice if the *majority* cared. We almost lost British beer. about 40 for me. Spain and Italy don't do english beer...
So, don't be so down in the dumps about British cuisine, unless you are really a Europhobe in disguise ;-) Try to be a little more encouraging! All I've heard from you so far is negativity. It is not really acceptable :-)
Accepted, but don't continually try to knock those who are attempting to amend the situation. We've a long way to go, but we need your support.
