Following up to Don Gray
It would be nice if the *majority* cared. We almost lost British beer.
about 40 for me.
Spain and Italy don't do english beer, you wont find it in their wine cultures. I doubt it would keep well in summer there. The idea of an Italian swilling pints is alien to their culture. Its like saying where can you get Txaxoli in UK.
Sorry I disagree, while there is a lot of good produce out there and now quite a lot of good cooking, especially at the quality end (where New York considers us world leaders, along with Spain) , we delude ourselves if we think we have been the equals of France, Spain and Italy. As I say, we are now catching up.
I'm not anti british food, I try to support all the improvements that are taking place. But that does not extend to not being enthusiastic about what other countries offer.
You have lost me there!
While you are arguing British is best, i'm arguing against you, so it seems negative. British food isn't best, that doesn't mean its all rubbish.
cook book addicts do not read 40Excuse me but you did nothing of the kind! Even the simple-minded understand the meaning of "rant alert"- - or perhaps you have had a sudden memory lapse...
you have it! -- Mike Reid
