Excuse me but you did nothing of the kind! Even the simple-minded understand the meaning of "rant alert"- - or perhaps you have had a sudden memory lapse? You used the phrase both at the beginning and end of your soliloquy and also emphasised both occurrencies in brackets. I'm sure you are fully conversant, as I am, of the meaning of the phrase and particularly chose to use it. Chambers states "rant" as "to storm, a tirade, an extravagant preacher etc" Now, unaccustomed to bad manners, I took offence to this arrogant nonsense.

Sorry, my miss-interpretation there. Not to worry - can't knock strongly reasoned differences ;-) Agreed! I'd hate to even contemplate a survey...

I attempted to buttert, as I do again, that British food, properly cooked, and well presented, as a cuisine, is equal to anything that I have read about, tasted, cooked and-or presented by an accomplished cook-chef. I would like you to refute that premise if you feel able to do so.

Shame on you! Forget about the pet and consider your last statement. Who has justified that? You can't manipulate statements and reform them to prove a point. I stated that the helpings were over-large for me. Personal information. Nothing to do with English presentations you may have had. Cuisine in 'my' context means 'cookery' - not restaurant presentation. Sorry that you can't understand or accept that ;-)

Cheers, Don
