Sorry, my miss-interpretation there. Not to worry - can't knock strongly reasoned differences ;-)
Agreed!
I'd hate to even contemplate a survey - but it doesn't prove that the "Cuisine" is poor, only that the quality of the cooks-chefs is not up to scratch. This would appear to me the only common ground we have for mutual agreement; eg. The ability of the school "cooks" and I use the term loosely, on Jamie's program were either not trained, badly trained, or couldn't give a monkey's!!
This is true, but with respect to our US friends, most of them have never travelled to Europe, many more, given a map of Europe, would have difficulty finding or labelling countries on it. Check in on rec.food.cooking for the age-old myths that are bandied about ;-) There are also many open-minded Americans who are willing to give it a try.
cook book addicts do not read 43In message The Reids I'm perfectly happy to accept a fresh start, but don't precede each concilitary sentence with a derogatory one. I began with a concern, March 8th, that a British group sometimes appeared...
You're still living in the past. I could take you to many, many pubs back in my stomping ground of West Yorkshire, where quality food and beers are readily available. Sure not every pub, hotel, restaurant delivers the best, but wearing misted lenses won't help you see the dawn. Oh, and I delight in many cuisines, unfortunately Spanish isn't one of them. So, you see, we all have our little foibles - maybe next year ;-))
