Recommendation South LincsWe had a meal out last night at the Hare and Hounds pub in Haconby, near Bourne, Lincs. We were impressed. Good, freshly prepared food at have a small basic menu changing by season...
I'd say so, except that I've met a few people who've seen other people doing the fancy waving things about to make clashing metal-on-metal noises and buttume that's the way to use a steel. One of them seized a cigar stone from me to demonstrate this 'correct' way to sharpen a scythe blade in front of a group of about 10 people; he was one of those hot-tempered short people (often male) carrying a chip bigger than his head on one shoulder relating to having a female younger than him (me) supervising the work group of which he was a part. He made a few showman's pbuttes stroking the blade at random angles with great speed and great force about five times before the stone broke when it hit the edge. I just looked at him sadly, he turned absolutely literally crimson with rage and embarrbuttment, then left.
A relative of mine did :-) Not red-hot, mind, just warmer than cold along the edge. *Lots* of friction. It was a very cheap, very dull knife.
Well, yes. But it's very satisfying :-) The globals seem to hold an edge very well, though.
