Tea TimeOh dear....so far many people over here make faces at the smell of the dish, but never complained about the taste :) you need to do the following: cut up, into cubes meat - bacon, belly...
I can't say I've seen it or the other branches. I will take a look on Tuesday when I'm back at work.
Over the past few chilly weeks I've often had soup from Eat (you can view their weekly soup menu online and decide whether it's worth the walk - and the crush inside). I also go regularly to a little kosher sandwich bar at the southern end of Leather Lane market - Chap'a'nash - which does excellent falafel in pitta (and potato buerekas).
Near that is Choices - a rather clean greasy spoon where, if you time your visit well, you can get quite good chilli con carne or lasagne from the hot food bar (a little lady at the front takes all the cash and diners eating in also have to queue up, plates in hand, to pay her). Too late and the food hoppers are nearly empty, too early and the chilli is a bit runny.

There's a Konditor & Cook nearby as well, on Gray's Inn Road, though I tend not to go there as the pastries and cakes are too irresistible.
I've not tried the soup from Pret recently, and I've not been impressed by the smell when a work colleague brings it in.
