Haven't posted for a whileMark Blewett That's what I was trying to tell Mike. :o)) Seems that most people that come hear have the same feeling, hate...
I have just been out in the garden to check out the herb patch.. We have small, but usable, quanbreasties of flat leaf parsley, thyme, marjoram, chives, fennel and mint. The rosemary, thyme, sage and bay are much larger in general. There's also a patch of tiny self-sown chervil seedlings which need a bit of warmth to grow. The tarragon is up to a couple of inches and the slugs have found it :(
To carry on with this unlikely list for 19th February on our Scottish island, we had the first of our rhubarb out of the garden a couple of weeks back. There were 3 to 4 stalks appearing, I pulled them before any frost damage and they made a tasty addition to a home made rice pud. There were another few stalks up to 8 or so inches yesterday. We used to live in West Cornwall until 3 years ago, and I can't remember having herbs or rhubarb like this in the 30 years I lived down there. Arran is more or less on the same longitude as Cornwall, but quite a long way further north! What is going on?
Haven't posted for a whileSo an update on what I've been doing.... (or some random ramblings!) Been in Canada (Vancouver) for a bit...
