RAFA CAN'T WAIT FOR 'SPEEDY' ARRIVAL

Just as long as Rafa plays him every game it shouldn't be a problem;)

Paul Eaton 20 October 2005 Xabi Alonso is backing Djibril Cisse to keep banging in the goals for the Reds following last night's winner in Brussels. Cisse's first half strike was enough to settle the match with Anderlecht and put Liverpool just one victory away from qualification into the knock-out stages of the competition.

The French ace has now netted two goals in two games for the Reds and Alonso reckons there's many more to come.

He said: "It's very important for us to have strikers who are scoring goals. We struggled to score earlier in the season but we're doing better now.

"Cisse is a good goalscorer and I'm sure he'll have taken a lot of confidence from the last two games. The more goals he scores the better for us."

He added: "It was a good result for us against a team who knew it was probably their last chance to stay in with a chance of qualifying. We did a good job, scored a good goal and deserved the win."

Fellow midfielder Didi Hamann agreed the Reds deserved their victory but reckons they could have made lives much easier for themselves on the night.

He said: "We started the game well and scored a really good goal. Our problem was we couldn't finish the game off even though we had some chances.

"At 1-0 you can never take anything for granted but in the end I think we deserved the three points."
