Timmy's Odour Eaters

Arthur Thacker, man of bollox
There have been many memorable moments in the history of the game of football. Some...

seems to me that you need a very particular set of individuals to take a Wenger approach to the English game. he has bought consistently poo hot paced footballers who have a great first touch and by that i mean outstanding. Van Persie appears to be the latest in the line. in moments throughout the season we have emulated their beautiful thread the ball game,in, around the penalty box, but for cisse and his woeful first touch, very erratic to be fair, we might have a little of that Arsenal front line attack. as it stands, cisse being wholly erratic we don't. where else do you look to for that pace?

one of the last good games under houllier was the Brum away game and the home game vs Blackburn when we totally dominated both games. Causing Souness to say re the BB fixture "i didn't think this liverpool side could play like that" and steve bruce to say something along the lines of "livepool are unplayable when they are in that mood".

both decent games on the eye but "solely" based on retaining the ball. maybe it's a moot point to make.

i suppose really it's too early to say exactly how rafa's team will pan out, he often talks of flexibility in formation but whether that will include an out and out blistering attack .... ??

i've just seen Kuyt in his Feyenoord side this weekend firing 7(2 for kuyt) past Eredivise mid table side Heracles, some of the fast counter attacking football was reminiscent of the Arsenal game. he would be a great buy imo.

for me, i don't think this Liverpool side have yet played the lovely football Houllier coaxed out of his side at the beginning of his last season, when kewell was on fire. yes some games have been fine, edge of the seat spectacles, some great football played, some great skill, goals, etc "on the road to Istanbul" etc but i ** think** that's a fair buttessment. ???

FWIW also, re kewell i think he'll come good this season but overall he simply doesn't seem to have THAT hunger and desire, maybe even that will change, his football brain, creativity if you will, is as sharp as ever imo though.

question.... and a f***ing "funny" one at that
Pope Pompous XVIII nah, he scored 2 premiership goals. one in the CL and two in the FA cup...
good news for rafa, bad news for pompous
RAFA: CROUCH HAS MADE THE DIFFERENCE Rafael Benitez said he firmly believes one of the main reasons for the good...

sorry to waffle on ;-) -- "i'm just a soul who's intentions are good, Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood"
